Malis Restaurant

Malis is proud to have been chosen by the Centre for Peace & Conflict Studies as one of its partners for a unique fundraising event on October 21 that promises to be a fantastic celebration of art, music, culture and history in the name of a deeply important cause in Cambodia: peace.

The Centre is raising funds in order to establish the Cambodia Peace Museum in Battambang, an institution that will be dedicated to remembering Cambodia’s heroic peace-builders of the past and championing the peace-builders of today and the future.

In keeping with their spirit, the gala event will be dedicated to the lotus flower which, like human beings, though fragile has the power to rise above its conditions thanks to its strength, flexibility and innate purity.

The organisers have put together a stunning line-up for the evening, including pop sensation Laura Mam, a live art performance from Phare Cambodian Circus, and musicians from Cambodia Living Arts.

The Centre for Peace & Conflict Studies was founded in order to further strengthen, support and share Asian approaches to conflict transformation in the region and beyond. It is now home to a range of peace building interventions across Asia, built upon the foundations laid by local peace initiatives such as the Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT), and Action Asia. The museum will feature exhibits examining subjects such as the Paris Peace Accords, UNTAC, weapons reduction, Cambodia’s peacekeepers, the Peace Art Project, landmine clearance, and the Dhammayietra Peace Walks, among others. The aim is for it to become a vital reference for developing a more positive perspective for the future in order to facilitate awareness and healing.

Tickets are $60 net each, which includes two hours of free-flowing canapés, wine, beer and soft drinks and one complimentary ticket for the Lotus Gala Raffle. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 6 tickets for $50, for some great prizes including weekend packages in Siem Reap and around Cambodia.

We are absolutely sure that this evening is going to be one of the highlights of the year in Siem Reap. To reserve your Lotus Gala and raffle tickets, contact Peace Museum Events Coordinator Adam Rodwell, at adamrcpcs@gmail.com, or contact us at Malis.
